IOSH stands for The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. They are the leading body and largest membership organisation for safety and health professionals. Their training and approved courses, such as IOSH Working Safely and IOSH Managing Safely, provide valuable knowledge, skills and qualifications for people who deal with safety and health within the workplace.
There are so many IOSH courses available, it can be confusing to know which one you need to take. Different courses are aimed at different sectors or people at different levels. Agility currently offers four different IOSH courses:
This one day course is aimed at anyone and everyone in a working role, regardless of sector, who wants an introduction to the basics of safety and health. At Agility, we offer this training in-house at your premises, at our training centre in Worcestershire and even remotely online.
This three day course acts as a full introduction to health and safety and is targeted at managers and supervisors and any employee that has an active role in their organisation’s health and safety procedures.
Upon successful completion of the course, it will give the delegate the confidence and the supporting knowledge to drive and tackle key health and safety issues, whilst understanding their full responsibilities. The course will highlight the importance of health and safety within the delegate’s job role and will actively encourage them to promote a positive health and safety culture within their business. At Agility, we offer this training in-house at your premises, at our training centre in Worcestershire and even remotely online.
It is recommended that you refresh your IOSH Managing Safely every three years by attending the one day IOSH Managing Safely Refresher course.
This course is IOSH recognised and is aimed at an individual carrying out any role within the education sector from teachers to caretakers or admin staff to senior management. This course caters for all, and trains delegates on how to regulate and oversee health and safety in the classroom and the wider school environment.
You do not require previous qualifications or any existing awareness in health and safety. The focus is upon ensuring the safety of students, and any others who could be affected in school, and taking the necessary practical actions to protect their welfare.
Our Management of Health and Safety in Education course provides an IOSH recognised qualification necessary to ensure that your establishment is fully up to date with health and safety legislation. At Agility, we offer this training in-house at your premises, at our training centre in Worcestershire and even remotely online.
This is a 2 day course aimed at any individual working or volunteering in a sporting environment, such as a sports club, gymnastics club, leisure club or school. Upon completion of this course, delegates will have a greater understanding to tackle health and safety issues and implementing effective control measures whilst understanding their responsibilities.
You do not require previous qualifications or any existing awareness of health and safety. The focus is to ensure the safety of club members, volunteers and any others who may be affected in a sporting environment.
Our Operating Safely in a Sporting Environment course provides an IOSH recognised qualification necessary to ensure that your establishment is fully up to date with health and safety legislation. At Agility, we offer this training in-house at your premises, and remotely online.
Both IOSH and NEBOSH offer widely recognised qualifications in health and safety, however, NEBOSH offer courses for people who work within health and safety and want to make a career in it. IOSH is aimed at people who have health and safety responsibilities within the workplace, but don’t directly work within health and safety. They just need that basic knowledge in order to be compliant.
