IOSH Managing Safely

Course Intro 

IOSH Managing Safely acts as a full introduction to Health and Safety, targeted at managers and supervisors. Upon successful completion of the course, delegates should have both the confidence and the supporting knowledge to tackle key health and safety issues, whilst understanding their full responsibilities. The course will highlight the importance of health and safety within the delegates job role and will actively encourage them to promote a positive health and safety culture within their business.

The Course

Upon completion of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the organisations legal responsibilities
  • Apply basic principles and practices to health & safety issues
  • Set and plan health & safety objectives
  • Recognise work place risks and implement appropriate control measures
  • Investigate and report on accidents and near misses

Course Content 

The IOSH Managing Safely course is split into 8 modules:

  • Module 1: Introducing Managing Safely
  • Module 2: Assessing Risks
  • Module 3: Controlling Risks
  • Module 4: Understanding your Responsibilities
  • Module 5: Identifying Hazards
  • Module 6: Investigating Accidents and Incidents
  • Module 7: Measuring Performance
  • Module 8: Protecting our Environment

Assessment & Certification 

Each delegate will need to pass a two stage assessment to complete the course and successful candidates will receive an IOSH accredited certificate; this is made up of a short exam and a risk assessment project.

Certificates are valid for three years and to ensure that they remain valid, a one-day refresher course will need to be attended prior to the expiry date.

Costs 

Public Courses: £495.00 +VAT per person.

5+ delegates – £395+VAT per delegate

The cost is inclusive of everything required for the course; work books, course materials, handouts, certification, lunch, refreshments and car parking.

We can be flexible on how you want the four days delivered, whether it’s a block of four consecutive days, two blocks of two days or one day a week over four weeks; the only stipulation is that the fourth day of training is delivered within 30 days of the first. We will have the ability to focus the course scenarios and examples on your business which will keep the course relevant, interactive and interesting for your employees. In addition to this, we can take your employees in to their work area and conduct some practical activities such as hazard spotting and completing risk assessments.
